Basin City Water & Sewer Utilities project

James A Sewell & Associates, LLC, has been working with the Basin City Water/Sewer District in Basin City, Wa., since 2004. The District was formed with the intention of acquiring existing private water and sewer utilities operating in the community. James A Sewell & Associates, LLC, working through Franklin County completed a draft feasibility study for the water system, part of which included procuring the services of a utility appraiser to assess the value of the utility and its water permits. James A Sewell & Associates, LLC, recommended consolidating the District and a nearby Mobile Home Park water system as a means of solving the MHP’s water quality problems and enhancing the attractiveness of the overall project for grant funding. The District is currently finalizing terms of the consolidation of the community and the park. James A Sewell & Associates, LLC, recently applied for a CDBG grant for Phase 1 of the construction of infrastructure improvements to the system. Franklin County has already provided over $800,000 in grants for the planning and purchase of the water system(s).
